Privacy policy

This notice explains how we process your personal data when you visit the site, buy a piece of jewelry, book an appointment, write to us or subscribe to the newsletter. It is provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003.

1. Data controller

2. What data we process and why

  • Online purchases. Name, shipping and billing addresses, email, phone number and order details. We need them to conclude and manage the sales contract, shipping, returns and customer care (legal basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to meet tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)). Card details are processed directly by the payment provider: we do not see or store them.
  • Appointment requests, redesign requests and messages. Name, email, phone number and whatever you choose to tell us in the forms (for example, the piece you want to see or redesign). We use them to reply and arrange the meeting (steps taken at your request before a contract, Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Newsletter. Your email address, only if you subscribe. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time through the link at the bottom of every message or by writing to us.
  • Browsing and cookies. Technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) needed for the site to work and stay secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)) and, only with your consent, statistics and marketing data collected through the cookies described in the cookie policy.
  • Security and fraud prevention on orders (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)).

Providing the data marked as required in the forms and at checkout is necessary to buy or to receive a reply; without it we cannot proceed. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning you.

3. Who we share data with

Only with those we need to provide the service, who process the data on our behalf as processors or as independent controllers:

  • Shopify International Limited (Dublin, Ireland), the platform the store runs on, together with its group companies;
  • the payment providers active at the time of purchase (for example Shopify Payments or PayPal), which process payment data as independent controllers;
  • the couriers who deliver the jewelry;
  • Klaviyo, Inc. (United States), to send the newsletter to subscribers;
  • our tax advisor and the authorities, when required by law.

Your data is never sold or made public.

4. Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers (Shopify Inc. in Canada, Klaviyo in the United States) may process data outside the European Economic Area. This happens only to countries covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Canada; the United States for companies certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or under the standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission.

5. How long we keep data

  • Order data and accounting records: 10 years, as required by law (Art. 2220 of the Italian Civil Code).
  • Requests and messages: as long as needed to reply and follow up on your request, then no more than 24 months.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Cookies: for the periods stated in the cookie policy.

6. Your rights

At any time you can ask us to access, correct or erase your data, restrict its processing, receive it in a machine-readable format (portability) and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Arts. 15–22 GDPR). Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it whenever you like, without affecting processing carried out before. Write to info@clee.it: we reply within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).

7. Minors

The site is not intended for children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

If we change this notice, we will publish the new version here with the date of the update.
